This course, held at the Y, offers youngsters a chance to learn and excel at babysitting skills. We will provide teens with the basic skills they need to look after children, understand basic prevention, and deal with emergency situations. After this two-day course, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

BELLWOOD POOL MEMBERSHIP
Bellwood pool will open for the season on May 27. Pool hours daily are Noon to 7:00PM. Resident rates are available for YMCA Members as well as Bellwood & Antis Township residents (must show proof of residency). Day passes also available. Pool passes make GREAT stocking stuffers!
CHILDREN’S CENTER FESTIVAL
Friday, May 5: 5:00PM until dusk
Ages: All ages
This festival promotes good old fashioned family fun with carnival games, children’s crafts, food booths and prizes. FREE t-shirts will be given away, while supplies last. All proceeds from the festival will benefit the programs and services of the YMCA Children’s Center. Don’t miss it, admission is FREE! DARKNESS TO LIGHT
This program raises awareness and educates adults on how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The Stewards of Children, Darkness to Light training provides simple, proactive steps to protect children from sexual abuse. HEALTHY KIDS DAY
Saturday, April 29: 10:00AM to 1:00PM
Ages: All ages
“Empower youth potential!” A day filled with fun, engaging and creative activities. Join in on the fun! We will have games, demonstrations, free t-shirts, exhibits, face painting and physical activities. We will also have open swimming from 1:00 to 4:00PM. Children must be accompanied in the pool by an adult if under the age of 9. All activities are free and open to the public. Lunch and snacks will be available for a small fee. Healthy Kids Day is a part of the YMCA’s national effort to keep kids moving and learning all summer long!
POOL BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Your birthday party is sure to be a “splash” hit at the Y! Enjoy two hours in the party room which includes one hour in the lap pool with a certified lifeguard & football toss. Bring your own decorations and refreshments. Contact the Y at 695-4467 to schedule your pool party today.
The Women’s Auxiliary is in its 83rd year of providing financial support to the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA through fundraisers held during the year. These funds have helped to purchase first aid supplies, life vests, rescue tubes, water dumbbells, scooters, basketballs, art supplies, display signs and pay for two youth to attend summer camp.
Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month; September through May, 12:30PM at the Y. The Auxiliary is open to all women; you do not have to be a member of the Y to join. For more information contact the YMCA at 695-4467.
